Research

Research projects initiated by GERO mainly focus on investigations into the maintenance and improvement of the quality of life of aged people.

Current Research projects

  1. Geriatric rehabilitation Investigations into structures and processes of functional and psychological developments of older rehabilitation patients from the epidemiological, psychological and social point of view.

  2. Post-traumatic quality of life Investigations into health-bound and psycho-social dynamics following a traumatic experience.

  3. Managed care Investigations into the medical and economic aspects of patient-oriented control of acute medical services, in-patient services, out-patient services, and nursing services in Europe and the USA.

  4. Survey on the quality of life of aged people by taking special account of the subjective and objective aspects of the living environment.

Planned research projects

  1. Investigations into the intercultural differences in the case of defined psycho-social and medical aspects of so-called old-age infirmities in cooperation with WHO.

  2. Comparative investigations into changes of social and functional competence of the aged in Europe and the US.

 

Forschung_center-right

GERO-initiated research projects dealing generally with the restoration or maintenance of good communication structures and the associated quality of life in the old age. The focus is drastically targeted on circumstances of living conditions among older fellow in modern industrial societies as well as socio-political consequences of demographic developments.
